4.2.2. Installation on a Fully Encrypted File System‌‌

To guarantee the confidentiality of your data, you can set up encrypted partitions. This will pro- tect your data if your laptop or hard drive is lost or stolen. The partitioning tool can help you in this process, both in guided and manual mode.

The guided partitioning mode will combine the use of two technologies: Linux Unified Key Setup (LUKS) for encrypting partitions and Logical Volume Management (LVM) for managing storage dynamically. Both features can also be set up and configured through manual partitioning mode.
