GTB: Graphics Toolbox
DESCRIPTION
The Graphics Toolbox (GTB) is a collection of C++ libraries and apps for computer graphics and data visualization.
Wagner Correa initially created GTB as part of his Ph.D. research at Princeton University in collaboration with Professor Claudio Silva and Dr. James Klosowski. Several other researchers later contributed to GTB (see the AUTHORS file).
Features
- Out-of-core rendering (rendering 3D models larger than main memory)
- Spatial decomposition (partitioning 3D models using the octree data structure)
- Simplification (creating approximate 3D models with different levels of detail)
- Multithreading (using multiple threads for caching and prefetching to hide I/O latency)
- Visibility algorithms (approximate and conservative occlusion culling)
- Distributed rendering (using multiple machines to speed up rendering and support larger datasets)
- Support for point clouds, polygonal models, and volumetric datasets
