MC 6800 Emulator for Teensy 4
DESCRIPTION:
6800/ET-3400 Emulator, designed for the Teensy 4.0/4.1 processors. Build this with the Arduino IDE 2.0. Full Source and readme included in archive.
Programs written in 6800 assembly can be run in the emulator. It supports two modes of operation, an internal monitor program and a mode that emulates the Heathkit ET3400 (and ET-6800) microprocessor trainers.
Motorola released the MC6800 chip in 1974. It was a source of inspiration for the designers of the more popular (and cheaper) 6502 chip that was used in so many home computers of that era.
The MC6800 is a big-endian processor (hi byte, lo byte order), unlike so many others from that era (6502, 8080).
Features
- Written in C/C++ for the Teensy 4.0/4.1 processor. Buildable using the Arduino IDE 2.
- Supports the full 6800 instruction set, including RESET, NMI and INT pins.
- Memory mapped I/O from the emulated 6800 using a second Serial port.
- Monitor controlled by a USB connected VT100 compatible terminal (should be OS independent that way).
- The emulated 6800 has access to a full 64K of memory space.
- When used with Teensy 4.1, object data files in Motorola S-REC format may be loaded from an SD card.
- All registers and user-selectable memory blocks can be monitored and data changed.
- Current instruction and addressing mode disassembled in the monitor.
- Single step your program, run wide-open or make in-memory edits.
