DESCRIPTION
Tax4Fun2 is the constantly under development and will replace the old Tax4Fun (http://tax4fun.gobics.de/).The new version was build on 275 archaeal and 12102 bacterial genomes (Complete or Chromosome status in RefSeq). I did not include MAGs or very incomplete genomes but one of the important features of Tax4Fun2 is its ability to incorporate user data (Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes are supported). In addition, we added a feature to calculate (multi-) functional redundancy indices. I added an example, how to predict functional profiles and functional redundancy. For further details: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/early/2018/12/09/490037 (Note that this is a preprint and there was no peer-review yet).
You will need to have NCBI BLAST+ installed on your system before you can use it. For some functions, you need to have the R packages ape and seqinr installed.
I you have any issues or questions, please contact me ([email protected]).
Features
- Functional prediction from 16S rRNA data
- Functional redundacy
This is an application that can also be fetched from https://sourceforge.net/projects/tax4fun2/. It has been hosted in OnWorks in order to be run online in an easiest way from one of our free Operative Systems.
